% insightII ( or appropriate command )
Window Manager Resources - 4DWm is the standard window manager for SGI workstations. The following resources must be in place for Insight II to work properly when 4DWm is running. These are defaults in /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/4DWm. Make sure that your .Xdefaults file has not defines these otherwise.
4Dwm*keyboardFocusPolicy: pointer
4Dwm*positionIsFrame: false
The following 4Dwm resource settings are recommended, but not required. Without these settings, you may experience transient color changes in parameter blocks or residual graphics after some window manager operations.
4Dwm*SG_useOverlay: false
4DWm*SG_visualType: normal
The user of an icon box is recommended, especially if you will be using hardware stereo. An icon box holds all of your icons in one convenient location. Without it, secondary window icons may get in your way in hardware stereo mode. To use an icon box, add the following lines to your .Xdefaults file. You ca adjust the geometry settings to suit your taste.
4Dwm*iconBoxGeometry: 5x2+0-0
4Dwm*useIconBox: True

IRIX 6.2, 6.3, 6.4 |
Requirements:
The default 14 point lucida font for the Cerius2 user interface is not installed on SGI systems by default. To get this font, you should install:
x_eoe.sw.Xoptfonts
If this component is not installed on your system, Cerius2 uses an alternate font.
The native IRIX 6.2 images provided with this release are high performance n32 executables. These images require the n32 runtime components specified in the following listing, which is the output of "versions". Not that these are not part of the standard IRIX installation, but may be installed from you Irix 6.2 or later distribution Cds.
I c++_eoe.sw32.lib Standard Execution Libraries (N32)
I c_eoe.sw32.lib Standard Execution Libraries (N32)
I eoe.sw32.gfx Graphics N32 Execution Environment
I ftn77_eoe.sw32.lib Standard Execution Libraries (N32bit)
I motif_eoe.sw32.eoe IRIX IM Run-time Software (n32)
I x_eoe.sw32.eoe X11 n32 Execution Environment
I compiler_eoe.sw32.lib Base Execution Libraries (N32)
I compiler_eoe.sw32.unix IRIX Execution Environment (N32)
I dmedia_eoe.sw32.lib Digital Media n32 Execution Libraries (if present)
Some Cerius2 applications (e.g. quantum mechanics applications) require the SGI complib math runtime libraries. These are:
/usr/lib32/libcomplib.sgimath.so
/usr/lib32/libcomplib.sgimath.mp.so
/usr/lib32/libftn90.50
which are links to files of the same name in the mips3 or mips4 subdirectories, depending on your hardware. You may already have these on your system if it is configured for development.
The following patches are also needed:
IRIX 6.2 SGI patch 3083
If you are using an O2 - 3298 and 3164
Some Cerius2 applications expect to find /usr/lib32/libfastm.so which is normally a link to a file of the same name in the mips3 or mips4 subdirectories. IRIX 6.3 is missing this link, so you may need to create it if any applications fail to load and give error messages about being unable to load /usr/lib32/libfastm.so. To do this, enter the following commands as root:
# cd /usr/lib32
# ln -s mips4/libfastm.so .

4Dwm*clientAutoPlace: false
4Dwm*positionIsFrame: false
