Get Help! The ITRC and ResNET

You’re just finishing your 20-page research paper, when your computer crashes.

You’re carrying your laptop on a pile of books down the hall to study in a friend’s room, when it falls out of your arms and onto the floor with a sickening crash.

These things happen. That’s why you need IT support to get you through your years at Carolina. The first places to turn are the ITS Response Center (also known as the ITRC or the Help Desk) and ResNET.

New software works wonders in classrooms

Have you ever wished you could get an e-mail reminding you to do your calculus assignment or that you had left your car’s lights on? This summer, ITS’ Classroom Hotline upgraded its services with a program that sends Hotline staff similar reminders about the technology in multimedia classrooms.

Web 2.0Maybe. Leading IT thinkers are undecided as to whether Web 2.0 is the future of the Internet or simply a passing buzzword. Regardless, there is no argument that there’s a new generation of Web sites – like Amazon, Google, MySpace and Wikipedia – that encourage users to contribute ideas and opinions and are shaping how people are interacting online.
